Finding a natural deodorant that actually works and suits sensitive skin can be surprisingly difficult. Kutis Patchouli & Rose Bicarb Free Deodorant has been formulated without bicarbonate of soda, making it a lovely option if you find bicarb irritating.

The formula combines arrowroot, coconut oil, cocoa butter and magnesium hydroxide to help absorb moisture and keep you feeling fresh throughout the day, while the biodegradable paperboard tube makes it a more considered choice for your bathroom too.

And then there's the scent – a really pretty combination of soft florals, earthy patchouli and a refreshing citrus note. It's floral and feminine without being overly sweet.

For me, the bicarb-free formulation is the real selling point. You don't have to give up on natural deodorant just because your skin doesn't get along with bicarbonate of soda.

    The formula uses arrowroot powder to help absorb moisture, while coconut oil and cocoa butter provide a nourishing base. Magnesium hydroxide helps with odour control, and sunflower wax gives the deodorant its firm, easy-to-use texture. The formula is made with natural ingredients and is designed specifically for those who find bicarbonate of soda irritating.

    The Patchouli & Rose scent is a lovely balance of sweet, airy florals, earthy patchouli and a little refreshing citrus, making it feel floral without being overly sweet or powdery. Kutis describes it as a bright and energising blend.

    I also love the simple paperboard push-up tube. There's no plastic deodorant casing to deal with at the end, and Kutis says the 50g tube should last around three months with once-daily use.

    This is a particularly good option if you've previously found bicarbonate-based natural deodorants uncomfortable. You still get the benefits of a natural deodorant, but with a gentler bicarb-free formulation.
